RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and implement comprehensive wellness programs that address physical health, mental health, nutrition, and social-emotional learning.
- Create an age-appropriate wellness curriculum and activities for all grade levels.
- Conduct assessments to identify student wellness needs and program effectiveness
- Gather and analyze data to inform program improvements and report on outcomes.
- Promote student involvement in wellness activities and initiatives.
- Establish student wellness committees to foster leadership and advocacy among students.
- Identify and coordinate resources and services related to student wellness, including partnerships with local health organizations.
- Manage the wellness budget and seek funding opportunities to support wellness initiatives.
- Develop and disseminate materials that promote wellness and healthy lifestyle choices among students and families.
- Organize wellness events, such as health fairs, workshops, and community challenges.
- Participate in school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).

- Design and implement comprehensive wellness programs that address physical health, mental health, nutrition, and social-emotional learning.
- Conduct assessments to identify student wellness needs and program effectiveness.
- Lead the School Wellness Committee as mandated by the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and recruit members from Food Service, teachers, clinicians, nurses, parents, other staff, community, and students every three years.
- Survey student families to determine wellness needs and make recommendations to school leadership.
- Survey staff wellness needs and make recommendations to school leadership.
- Gather and analyze data to inform program improvements and report on outcomes.
- Ensure that the components of the PHMC Wellness Policy comply with nutrition education, nutrition promotion, physical and health education, and the promotion of physical activities. Make recommendations for improvements and outcomes.
- Promote student involvement in wellness activities and initiatives.
- Establish and run a school garden club with activities with students and staff.
- Manage quarterly school health initiatives aligned with age-appropriate wellness curriculum activities for students of all grade levels.
- Collaborate with the school culinary and physical education departments to promote interdisciplinary health and wellness activities, e.g., Farm to School, garden planting, visiting farms, and using locally grown ingredients in menus.
- Establish a walking club, garden club, nutrition club, etc. for students and staff.
- Identify and coordinate resources and services related to student wellness, including partnerships with local health organizations.
- Partner with PHMC programs that promote student wellness, including but not limited to SNAP Education.
- Partner with local gardening organizations to identify programs and services available to the school that support nutrition education and nutrition promotion, including all aspects of seeding, planting, natural fertilizer, and organic pest control.
- Manage the wellness budget and seek funding opportunities to support wellness initiatives.
- Collaborate with PHMC’s Strategy Development department to identify funding opportunities for the school garden and other initiatives.
- Develop and disseminate culturally relevant materials that promote wellness and healthy lifestyle choices among students and families.
- Organize wellness events, such as health fairs, workshops, and community challenges.
- Participate in school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Model and participate in school-wide expectations of the school PBIS program.
- Participate in events that may extend beyond the school day, including but not limited to Back to School Night, Parent Conferences, Academic Honors, and PBIS Events.
- Maintain full compliance with all PHMC and Fairwold Academy policies and procedures regarding job performance, conduct standards, and expectations.
- Perform related duties, special assignments, and projects as assigned by the Principal or Director of Curriculum and Instruction.

- Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens; may transport students in agency in accordance with PA Department of Education and Department of Transportation requirements and school and PHMC procedures
- Ability to climb stairs and walk on uneven terrain, play yards, and school grounds
- Ability to move rapidly, forward, backward, and laterally
- Physical capacity to lift, move, and position a student up to age 21 who may weigh 150 pounds or more with the assistance of other properly trained personnel

- Bachelor’s degree in public health, education, psychology, nursing, or a related field
