The is a hybrid role requiring in-person attendance in our Reston Virigina HQ each Tuesday and Thursday and remote option each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

The Senior Financial Business Analyst will monitor, analyze and report on key financial and non-financial metrics and trends related to revenue and sales. This includes reviewing monthly results to identify and investigate variances to plan, developing reports and presentations to explain results and trends, creating financial models to support decision making and assisting with the monthly financial close. This position will serve as a valued business partner providing meaningful and relevant data and financial insights to drive results.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Financial Analysis:

    Analyze and report on sales metrics (both cash and GAAP), including trends and variance to budget/forecast.

    Monitor KPIs for performance to budget, communicate changes in trends and identify risks and opportunities.

    Analyze performance of Channel Development Programs and communicate trends and learnings for future programs.

    Analyze new Channel Development Programs or other new business opportunities.

    Gather and analyze data and create business cases for potential product expansions.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop ad hoc business models to evaluate the projected financial return of proposed projects and initiatives.

    Analyze PIR and industry trends and provide recommendations to address.

Financial Reporting:

    "Tell the story" of the data and provide actionable recommendations for data driven decision making.

    Create actionable reports, dashboards and visualizations on sales and revenue performance.

    Develop ad-hoc financial models and reports to assist in performance evaluation of various key financial and operating metrics.

    Develop and/or modify financial reports to support enhanced financial reporting and planning activities.

    Partner with Data Analytics to build reporting and performance analysis in Tableau.

Financial Planning:

    Support the sales budgeting and forecasting processes.

    Assist in the development of presentations on budget, forecasts, business results and performance analysis.

    Identify opportunities to provide new analytical support and insights.

    Assist with month end close activities.

Supervision Received and Exercised

Position works under general supervision from the Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements (split up in 2 sections)

    Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, economics, statistics, finance, business administration or related field. 

    3 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, data analytics or business analysis.

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). 

    Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.

    Understanding of standard financial reports and finance principles.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements

    Discounted cash flow modeling. 

    Data query and/or data visualization tools.

    Ability to leverage data to drive business solutions and improve company performance.

    Experience turning data into insightful metrics and articulating trends and drivers of change.

    Ability to create actionable reporting and analysis.

    Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with business partners at all levels.

    Exhibits a mindset that is curious, comfortable with ambiguity and focused on continuous improvement.

    Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize appropriately.

    Excellent written and verbal communication, organization and presentation skills

    Strong attention to detail.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.

    Ability to access information using a computer for up to 4 hours at a time.

    Requires sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods of time.

    Requires mobility within the office.

Work Environment. This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.
