THE ROLE
As the Director of Client Partnerships, you will lead and manage a high-performing department focused on cultivating strong client relationships, driving revenue growth, and optimizing campaign performance. This is a strategic leadership role requiring a dynamic individual with proven sales acumen, a strong market presence, and the ability to scale impactful partnerships across the nonprofit sector.
You will oversee a team of Account Managers and Client Partnerships Managers, ensuring that campaigns meet financial and operational goals. You will also play a critical role in business development, sales strategy, and brand positioning to drive new partnerships and revenue opportunities.
Regular travel across Canada and the United States (estimated at 15–20% annually) is required.

We're seeking a Director of Client Partnerships who understands and shares our passion for the work we do.
LOCATION
This is a remote position with flexible work arrangements. However, working hours must align with the Eastern Time Zone (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM EST). Proximity to New York City or Washington, D.C. is highly preferred.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
Works closely with Managing Partners, Chief Strategy Officer, Directors of F2F, Phone and Digital operations, Finance, Data, IT and Logistics teams.
THE RESPONSIBILITIES
New Sales & Marketing
- Develop and execute a robust sales strategy to secure new nonprofit clients and expand Public Outreach’s reach in Canada and the U.S.
- Actively prospect, pitch, and close new business opportunities, positioning Public Outreach as the premier fundraising agency for nonprofits.
- Drive growth in face-to-face (F2F) fundraising while also expanding digital and phone-based fundraising programs.
- Lead the preparation and submission of proposals and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to secure high-value partnerships.
- Build and maintain a strong industry presence, attending conferences, networking events, and thought leadership opportunities.
Client & Account Management
- Oversee the management and success of client accounts, ensuring high-quality service and strategic growth.
- Directly manage a minimum of two key client accounts, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with client expectations.
- Work closely with nonprofit partners to optimize fundraising strategies and maximize return on investment (ROI).
- Work to ensure profitability and maximize the ROI of individual client campaigns through pricing, KPIs and media mix.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and support a team of Account Managers and two Client Partnerships Managers.
- Oversee staff training and ongoing professional development, ensuring best practices in client engagement and fundraising execution.
- Provide regular coaching and performance feedback to drive team success.
Campaign Strategy & Execution
- Ensure client campaigns are financially viable and structured for maximum impact.
- Work with internal teams to determine pricing, key performance indicators (KPIs), and media mix to optimize fundraising results.
- Collaborate with operational teams, including F2F, Phone, Digital, Finance, Data, IT and Logistics, to align priorities and maintain seamless campaign execution.
Cross-Departmental Communication
- Act as a liaison between the Client Partnerships team and other departments to ensure collaboration and efficiency.
- Champion internal communication to align goals across various business functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience & Requirements
- 10 years of experience in sales, client management, or business development, preferably within a nonprofit or agency environment.
- Proven ability to drive revenue growth, close deals, and expand market presence.
- Strong leadership experience, with the ability to manage and develop high-performing teams.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to sales, marketing, and client success.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders and delivering results under tight deadlines.
Compensation & Benefits
- Competitive annual salary between $95,000 to $135,000 (based on experience)
