Public Partnerships LLC (PPL) provides helps people with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or other long-term health conditions stay at home and “self-direct” their care. Known as consumer direction in New York, this long-term care model empowers people to take control of who provides their services and where. PPL was selected to be the Statewide Fiscal Intermediary for the New York Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program (CDPAP) starting in 2025. We will, along with a diverse alliance of service partners across the state, support the delivery of culturally sensitive and disability competent care to CDPAP participants. Duties and Responsibilities:
Performs a broad range of general accounting or tax accounting functions with lead responsibility. Follows established procedures and guidelines to perform accounting procedures accurately and on time.
Applies demonstrated project management skills to ensure project deliverables and expectations are met daily.
Implement controls on outsourced payroll tax provider related to the NY CDPAP program
Identify workload balancing concerns amongst their team.
Maintains accurate financial records or account books/workpapers and/or calculates and documents tax filings or reviews payroll tax filings.
Executes daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual processes as needed.
Review the quality of staff assignments to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
Identifies areas for process improvement investigation.
Make standard calculations to accurately compile and report statistics, classify, code, and record financial transactions and post entries to the general ledger.
Verifies, sorts, posts, and checks claims, bills, invoices, and vouchers and ensures accurate settlement of tax deposits.
Answers employee inquiries or escalated items as needed.
Aides' management in identifying employee performance issues.
Reviews of payroll tax filings for the IRS or NYS
Prepares tax correspondence to address tax notices, validating tax files, submitting support tickets as issues are identified, and ensuring accurate settlement of daily tax deposits as needed.
Performs User Acceptance Testing when need is identified.

Required Skills:
Knowledge of federal and state financial or tax regulations.
Excellent project management skills.
Excellent PC spreadsheet and database skills.
Ability to reconcile tax filings.
Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines.
Ability to work with changing priorities.
Resourceful.
Knowledge of computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications.
Knowledge of standard and/or fund accounting principles, methods, and applications.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
Account balancing and reconciling skills.
Qualifications:
Education: College degree preferred; or equivalent work experience required.
Experience: 3-year progressive experience with automated financial operations center projects, 3 years prior tax and financial administration experience. Experience working with outsourced payroll provider preferred
Working Conditions: Office Setting / Remote with NY State residency
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Salary: $76,000 / annually
