Summary: Responsible for leading the credit union’s organizational payment strategy. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Develop and lead our payments strategy for credit union’s payment related products, including implementing and monitoring strategies spanning payment solutions (i.e., real time payments, P2P transfers, digital wallets).
- Oversee all payment processing operations, ensuring efficiency, security, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., NACHA, Regulation E, BSA).
- Manage the development of predictive and statistical models to enhance payment strategies over time.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure the right products and services are in place to successfully implement our payments strategies, aiding in the accomplishment of goals, KPIs, and profitability.
- Lead strategy engagements to address our members challenges, articulating and delivering exceptional experience to our members.
- Help our members establish new mindsets and structures that drive long term value.
- Identify industry improvements and optimization opportunities and represent the credit union in conversations with partners, networks, issuers, and acquirers to improve processing capabilities.
- Develop, track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure payment system efficiency and member satisfaction.
- Define and manage partner strategy to support industry trends and the credit union’s roadmap.
- Collaborative development of company strategic plans including the identification and quantification of new market opportunities within payments.
- Evaluate, recommend and develop new strategies and more efficient processes with payment related opportunities and challenges.
- Provide metrics tracking and card portfolio profitability.
- Oversee all payments-related operations and ensure their completion. This includes ACH, RTP, check processing, RDC, ATM balancing, and wire transfers.
- Serve as point person for solving complex strategic and analytic challenges that face payments and build frameworks and models to support grounded recommendations.

Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
- Minimum 5-7 years working in payments, with 2 years of leading payments strategy.
- Professional certifications in payments, such as Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or Certified Payments Professional (CPP) preferred.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven decision-making approach.
- Requires a deep understanding of regulatory compliance, risk management and member experience.
- Demonstrates a successful track record of payment metrics and programs.
- Proven knowledge and abilities of payment strategies and programs.
- Strong ability to analyze opportunities and problems and recommend solutions.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead, develop, motivate, and foster team dynamics.
- Proficiency in computer usage, including Office 365 SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
