Job Description
This position is responsible for providing technical support in the Engineering Services department for the Salem Power Uprate Project.
The successful candidate will perform duties as a Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) for modifications needed to support the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2.
Key Responsibilities:
- Qualify for and fulfill the LRE role for the power uprate plant modifications and be accountable for the design "cradle to grave"
- Establish modification scope, system performance requirements, and all testing requirements
- Perform Owners Acceptance Reviews for design analysis, modification packages, procurement, and specifications in accordance with plant procedures
- Manage technical supplier teams with respect cost, schedule, and quality
- Schedule and coordinate Engineering and station department resources to deliver and install required design change packages
- Interface with Project Manager to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals
- Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification
- Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis
- Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Engineering Manager
- Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization
Requirements:
- BS Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Controls or related Engineering or related technical degree with 13 years experience performing related Engineering work in a nuclear power plant or related industry
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in controls / digital design engineering
- Work effectively with a team to achieve team goals
- Independently multi-task and resolve conflicting priorities
- Excellent written & oral communication skills
- Availability for shift work during installation
- Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access
- Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record
