Job Summary:
As a Senior Controls Design Lead, you will be responsible for providing technical support in the Engineering Services department for the Salem Power Uprate Project. The successful candidate will perform the duties as a Lead Responsible Engineer (LRE) for modifications needed to support the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2.
Key Responsibilities:
- Qualify for and fulfill the LRE role for the power uprate plant modifications and be accountable for the design from cradle to grave.
- Establish modification scope, system performance requirements, and all testing requirements.
- Perform Owners Acceptance Reviews for design analysis, modification packages, procurement, and specifications in accordance with plant procedures.
- Manage technical supplier teams with respect to cost, schedule, and quality.
- Schedule and coordinate Engineering and station department resources to deliver and install required design change packages.
- Interface with Project Manager to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
- Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing, and as-built verification.
- Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation, and any required supporting analysis.
- Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Engineering Manager.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Controls, or related Engineering or related technical degree with 13 years of experience performing related Engineering work in a nuclear power plant or related industry.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in controls/digital design engineering.
- Work effectively with a team to achieve team goals.
- Independently multitask and resolve conflicting priorities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Availability for shift work during installation.
- Must meet Nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
- Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
Desired Qualifications:
- Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR).
- Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualification.
- Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state).
- Familiarity with the operation of programmable logic controllers.
- Familiarity with electric or electromechanical analog/pneumatic control loops.
- Familiarity with distributed digital data collection and control systems (e.g., Emerson Ovation, RSLogix, PI Process).
