Overview of the Role: As a seasoned Principal Mechanical Systems Commissioning Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the Salem Power Uprate Project. This high-visibility assignment involves overseeing power uprate modifications, ensuring seamless integration of new and existing systems, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive project success.
Responsibilities: Key accountabilities for this position include:
- Modifications Oversight: Sponsor and lead plant modifications through the plant approval process, aligning with project goals and regulatory requirements.
- System Integration: Ensure the successful implementation of power uprate modifications, guaranteeing minimal disruptions to operations.
- Collaboration and Communication: Foster strong relationships with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables meet overall objectives.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, such as those outlined in 50.59 and License Amendment Request preparation.
Requirements: For this challenging yet rewarding role, we seek candidates with extensive experience in mechanical engineering, particularly in power uprate projects. Relevant skills and qualifications include knowledge of thermal performance modeling and monitoring, experience working in pressurized water reactors (PWR), and strong communication and collaboration skills. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering, or a related field, is required, along with at least 13 years of relevant experience in nuclear power plants or a related industry.
