Learning takes place in a supervised environment and assignments include the following work areas: Communications (1 student) - Produce feature articles about District projects (ex. RI and RR upgrades, plus substantial Distribution work), plus continued archiving District historical photos and adding to the archive in FileNet of news releases dating back to 1986. The student position will also provide support for general Communications tasks including responding to phone inquiries, writing news releases, proofreading and helping with outreach. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Requires a high school diploma or general education degree (GED), or current participation in a Running Start Program and in senior year of high school curriculum (including home-based education). Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire. Must be currently enrolled in a bona fide education program (in an accredited college or university), including some prerequisite coursework toward a relevant degree. Valid documentation is required at hire and subsequent quarter/semester enrollments. Must be earning a minimum of 10 credits for each applicable quarter/semester and must maintain a minimum overall grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.Must meet the District’s qualifications for Student employment at all times. Students will be terminated when no longer enrolled in a bona fide education program, including immediately upon graduation.LICENSE REQUIREMENTSA valid driver's license is required for this position (verified upon hire).
