SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The Engineer will be responsible for maintaining and repairing hotel facilities and mechanical equipment under the direction of Engineering Management.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
- Ability to perform general repair and maintenance in guest rooms, public spaces, and kitchen.
- Respond to guest calls entered in Knowcross. Operate and understand basic television system, plumbing, and electrical systems throughout the hotel.
- Accurately record and verify the completion of all repairs, replacement, and projects to managers.
- Preform preventative maintenance work orders.
- Perform routine maintenance such as painting and caulking.
- Respond to guests’ requests in an accurate and timely manner, creating a positive outcome that will result in a memorable experience.
- Resolve guest complaints, handling all guest interactions with the highest level of hospitality and professionalism, accommodating special requests whenever possible.
- Proper handling of VIP’s, recognize repeat guests and protect their privacy and confidentiality.
- Ensure compliance with all hotel policies and procedures at all levels.
- Any other duty assigned by the Engineering Manager, Director of Engineering, or Management.
Qualifications
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- At least one year of maintenance or engineering experience, preferable in a luxury hotel.
- HVAC, electrical, plumbing, boiler operations and general maintenance skills required.
- Must be able to lift, push, and pull items up to 100 pounds.
- Know how to participate in a team environment and assist other departments when needed, providing lateral service.
- Maintain a high level of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
- Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays and late hours when necessary.
- Must have the ability to report to work on time and when scheduled.
- Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.
