What You’ll Do:
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Public, you will become part of a 35-person development team located in Carlsbergbyen Copenhagen. In collaboration with the rest of the Copenhagen office, you will develop Public’s cutting-edge trading platform, enabling users to buy and trade stocks and options seamlessly. Public is looking for a candidate with an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial spirit; someone who is willing to learn quickly, take responsibility, and drive initiatives forward. Public operates in a unique and transformative market, which creates an exciting, innovative, and challenging technical environment. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems and APIs using
Java Spring boot. - Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other
stakeholders to implement new features and enhancements. - Optimize performance and scalability of our trading platform to ensure a
seamless user experience. - Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain code
quality and reliability. - Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually
What We’re Looking For:
- BA or MA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant field; experience in a similar role is most important.
- Strong proficiency in Java Spring boot and hands-on experience with
backend development. - Experience with Java or .NET is also relevant and can be considered.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and problem-
solving. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work
effectively in a fast-paced agile environment. - Experience with the financial markets or trading platforms is a plus, but
not required. - Fluent in English.
