As part of a Publicis Creative Comms team the Brand Associate will support public relations and communications programs for the Leo Burnett agency. The Brand Associate is responsible for managing the implementation of core public relations program assignments, including research, writing/editing, special events, media relations, budgeting, and account administration process. Associates play an active role in setting the standard for quality, creativity, and excellence within the department. This position reports into the Brand Director.
Key Responsibilities:
- Begin to manage the development of media materials including but not limited to media lists
- Monitor relevant media outlets, both traditional and social, for agency and industry coverage that impacts the business, providing updates to team and senior leadership
- Understand top media outlets relevant to the business, be able to edit media lists appropriately
- Be able to identify key trade reporters, business reporters and bloggers
- Build relationships with media to successfully pitch and secure media coverage
- Begin to manage the development of program and event materials
- Manage special event logistics, up to and including execution
- Proof and edit documents ensuring proper format is followed, crafting documents as requested
- Actively participate in and contribute to brainstorms
- Manage client campaign calendar, collaborating with creative and accounts teams
- 2-3 years of experience
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Event and project management skills
- Superior creativity & organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and juggle multiple projects at once and meet deadlines
- Must possess excellent judgment, be able to think independently and proactively provide solutions to obstacles
- Maintain professional poise at all times when interfacing with both internal and external sources
- Possess knowledge of both traditional and new media landscapes and tools. Must maintain current know-how (upgrading knowledge, as necessary)
