Overview

We are seeking an experienced Business Affairs Manager to support creative development and agency operations through effective talent and influencer management. This key role oversees the full cycle of talent from start to finish, including contracting, hiring paperwork, SAG and legal compliance, and supporting negotiations and hiring processes for influencer programs and talent-related shoots. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented professional with negotiation capabilities, an understanding of industry standards and regulations, and a passion for ensuring compliance and efficiency in all business affairs activities.

 

This individual will own the implementation and management of contracts and compliance for our talent engagements, collaborating with internal teams, third-party partners, talent representatives, and occasionally with client contacts to ensure seamless operations. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, leads with confidence, and is known for transforming regulatory insights into actionable strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Contract Management:
    • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts for influencers and talent utilizing approved agency and client templates.
    • Ensure all contracts comply with legal standards, SAG and collective bargaining standards, and client and agency policies.
    • Maintain a database of all contracts and related documents.
  • Paperwork and Documentation:
    • Oversee the preparation and processing of all necessary paperwork for talent engagements.
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all documents.
    • Maintain organized records and files.
  • SAG Compliance:
    • Stay informed about the most recent SAG-AFTRA and collective bargaining rulings and updates to ensure all talent engagements comply with current regulations.
    • Oversee the preparation and submission of all required SAG-AFTRA documentation.
    • Conduct regular audits of talent contracts and production practices to ensure ongoing compliance with SAG-AFTRA standards.
  • Support for Contracting, Usage, and Risk Management:
    • Collaborate with internal teams to provide legal review and advice on talent contracts and usage rights, in partnership with Publicis Legal.
    • Engagement with Publicis Business Affairs oversight
    • Understand individual client requirements and review all creative materials and talent engagements to confirm adherence to legal and regulatory standards as outlined in creator briefs.
    • Review commercial and usage terms with the partnerships team, ensuring necessary content usage rights are acquired.
    • Escalate contractual risks to decision-makers for review and approval.
    • Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure agency best practices and guidelines are adhered to, including union agreements, employment regulations, client and Publicis Groupe guidelines.
    • Ensure all industry policies and standardized legal documents are up to date and distributed accordingly.
    • Implement internal educational training on Business Affairs topics such as influencer, talent, music and social media platforms.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business affairs, contract management, project management, or a related role within the influencer and/or talent industry.
  • Strong understanding of SAG-AFTRA and related regulations and industry standards.
  • Experience contracting, negotiating and communication with influencers and/or talent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation Range: $66,785 - $75,000 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met. Temporary roles may also qualify for participation in our 401(k) plan after eligibility criteria have been met. For regular roles, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off. Salary : $66,785 - $75,000
