The System Administrator’s role is to design, install, administer, and optimize servers, Azure Stack HCI environment, hypervisor, hyperconvergence and related components to achieve high performance of various business applications. This includes ensuring the availability of client/server applications, configuring new implementations, and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment.
What you will do…
- Manage the information systems infrastructure supporting business applications including client/server-related hardware, virtualization, cloud technology, software, networking, etc.
- Maintain the data center/server room security features including documentation, diagrams, access restrictions, etc.
- Monitor and test system performance and provide performance statistics and reports. Perform scheduled backups, test and maintain them
- Prioritize and respond to help desk tickets as appropriate; serve as an escalation for issues; provide timely response to escalations
- Assist in provisioning network, security, servers, and end-user services. Implement policies, procedures, and technologies to ensure server security
- Coordinate with vendors, network team, help desk team, Project management teams as needed to provide excellent service and support
- Manage the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all systems, including servers, operating systems, hardware, storage, software, and peripherals. Manage users, mailboxes, collaboration tools, AD, DNS, DHCP and GPO on the network
What you need…
- 5-7 years relevant experience
- MCSE or MS Azure certification a must
- VMware VCE preferred
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Experience in overseeing the development and implementation of server/system architecture
- Strong demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, and SQL servers.
- Fundamental knowledge of networking and common protocols
- Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
- Must possess excellent problem solving skills, including the ability to interpret problems and make recommendations based on diagnostics, identify cause and effect relationships and evaluate risk vs. potential return, and adapt to unique situations.
