What are the responsibilities and job description for the Specialty Pharmacy Technician position at Publix Pharmacy?
A Specialty Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting pharmacists in the daily operation of a quality closed-door Publix Pharmacy located in Orlando delivering premier customer service. The Specialty Pharmacy Technician's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Communication with customers (patients, prescribers, payers, etc.) via telephone and/or facsimile; and is done on-site at a workstation
- Complying with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as Publix's policies
- Initiating fills, as permitted by state regulations
- Ensuring product is rotated, within date, and properly displayed on shelves
- Counting and labeling prescription drugs and supplies
- Properly disposing outdated, discontinued and/or unsaleable merchandise
- Accurately entering information into the Pharmacy computer systems
- Filing prescriptions and patient profiles
- Reconciling insurance discrepancies
- Lifting and carrying of pharmacy merchandise
- Interaction with other pharmacy associates
- Assisting in other duties, as assigned

- Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) in the state for which you are applying
- PTCB Certification
