Description
A Specialty Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting pharmacists in the daily operation of a quality closed-door Publix Pharmacy located in Orlando delivering premier customer service. The Specialty Pharmacy Technician’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Communication with customers (patients, prescribers, payers, etc.) via telephone and/or facsimile; and is done on-site at a workstation
- Complying with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as Publix’s policies
- Initiating fills, as permitted by state regulations
- Ensuring product is rotated, within date, and properly displayed on shelves
- Counting and labeling prescription drugs and supplies
- Properly disposing outdated, discontinued and/or unsaleable merchandise
- Accurately entering information into the Pharmacy computer systems
- Filing prescriptions and patient profiles
- Reconciling insurance discrepancies
- Lifting and carrying of pharmacy merchandise
- Interaction with other pharmacy associates
- Assisting in other duties, as assigned
Required Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older
- Must satisfy the requirements for an active, valid pharmacy technician registration or license, as required by the pharmacy board in the state in which the technician operates
- Must not have active suspensions, sanctions, or other restrictions related to participation in a private, federal, or state health insurance program upon hire and thereafter,
- Able to deliver friendly, courteous, prompt customer service
- Able to read and do simple math problems
- Able to enter data in the computer accurately
- Able to interpret, understand and follow instructions
- Able to work well with others as a team member and a passion for serving
- Not have received an unacceptable result on a company-sponsored drug test within the last year
- Have met the Criminal Background Check (CBC) and license check requirements within the last year and
- Meet the rehire eligibility criteria, if previously employed at Publix.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience at Publix
- Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPhT) in the state for which you are applying
- PTCB Certification
