Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools is comprised of a non-profit network of public charter schools designed to significantly increase high school graduation rates, college entrance, and college graduation rates for underserved students in Northeast Los Angeles and the Northeast San Fernando Valley.

The Team Member we are searching for

The ideal Behavior Intervention Specialist believes in and is passionate about the mission and commitments of PUC National and exhibits this through their leadership, reflection, and collaboration to ensure schools success across the organization.

What you will need to accomplish:

  • Conducts comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA)
  • Writes effective behavioral analysis reports and develops Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIP)
  • Participates in meetings, including Individual Educational Plans (IEPs) and 504 meetings
  • Understand students behavior goals in IEP and implement programs to target those goals
  • Trains staff and monitors data and data collection, lesson development, and implementation of Behavior Support Plans (BSP)
  • Serve as a primary interventionist, conduct Student Success Team (SST) and Family Success Meetings as needed
  • Participate in group and individualized training meetings on a regular basis
  • Understand restorative practices and discipline models
  • Intensive intervention through small groups and/or individual lessons to students in general education and special education programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What do we require from you?

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in a related field, or equivalent training and experience required
  • Masters degree from an accredited college or university preferred
  • BCBA License preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 3-4 years of behavioral intervention experience required

 

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Alignment with core characteristics required of every PUC employee: pursuit of excellence, innovation, community, tenacity, and authenticity
  • Must be flexible and collaborative
  • Able to multi-task in a challenging environment
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred
  • Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work
  • Regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential to the successful performance of this position

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb, and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • This is a full-time exempt, 11- Month, salaried position
