Job Summary: The Pharmacy Clerk is a front-line position serving as a representative of the business and providing the products and services offered by the company.The Pharmacy Clerk duties are not limited to those listed as the position has a wide scope of duties at times dependent on customer needs.
Work Hours: Store hours are Monday through Friday 9am-6pm, Saturday 9am-1pm, Closed Sunday. Working hours will be assigned based on Part-time or Full-time employment and will float across the open hours of the business to ensure adequate coverage for the demands of the business. Working hours will not solely be during the open business hours as duties will require employees to be on the clock prior to and after store business hours.

Full Job Description
- Utilize the Point-of-Sale system to complete customer sale transactions
- Ensure pricing of products is correct
- Operate a point-of-sale cash register; reconcile cash drawer/cash register; balance daily receipts to cash register including cash, check, charge cards and refunds; prepare daily summary of sales
- Creates genuine human connections by focusing on service, and keeping patients and caregivers top of mind at all times
- Demonstrates compassion and care by proactively identifying and resolving potential problems
- Communicates among a number of individuals, including patients, co-workers, insurance companies, and prescribers
- Understands and follows applicable Federal and State laws (e.g., HIPAA), regulations (e.g., OSHA), professional standards, and ethical principles
- Complies with company policies and procedures to ensure patient safety, and protect patient privacy and security
- Actively seeks opportunities to expand clinical, technical and insurance knowledge

- Under the supervision by the pharmacist, assist in the practice of pharmacy, in accordance with state, federal, and company policy
- Performs duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist and Store Owner including utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring information is entered correctly
- Reports, immediately, any errors to pharmacist on duty and adheres to Company policies and procedures in relation to pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program
- Provides general customer service support over the phone from the public and physicians
- Processes (corrects and resubmits) manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and performs other clerical duties, as assigned by the Pharmacy Manager
- Assists and supports Pharmacy Department on inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of products. Maintains knowledge of Company asset protection techniques, and files claims for wholesaler errors or damaged goods involving Rx drugs
- Assists Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in developing and maintaining positive relationships with the local medical community
- Assists with exterior and interior maintenance by ensuring the Pharmacy Department is stocked with adequate supplies, clean, neat and orderly in condition and appearance
- Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers
- Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
