Anodizing Operator - Job Description

General Summary:  This position reports to the Production Manager or their department designee.  Performs basic anodizing duties for the anodizing of aluminum parts to be assembled into hose couplings and accessories.  

Education and Work Experience Requirement:

High School diploma or equivalent required. This is a basic entry level position requiring no prior experience.

1)     Work Ethic

       1.1)     Reports to work as scheduled.  Does not display a pattern of unexcused absences and / or working incomplete shifts, properly reports                        back to work from meal and/or break periods.

       1.2)      Works as a team player with other team members.  Presents a positive attitude, and does not disparage assigned tasks, team                                      members, company, or management.

         1.3)       Willingness to work overtime as required to satisfy demand and requirements

         1.4)      Makes good use of time to ensure productivity outputs are met.  Does not wander or take excessive restroom breaks.  Always stays                              productive.

           2.1)      Works in a safe manor following safety guidelines.

           2.2)      Uses PPE as required.

            2.3)      Brings safety concerns to management attention.

3)  Direction / Focus

           3.1)      Stays engaged with assigned tasks, does not deviate for non-essential reasons.

            3.2)      Seeks out additional work upon completion of assigned tasks.  Takes initiative on tasks without being told.

4)     Housekeeping

             4.1)      Maintains organized work area, tools put away, product handled properly.

             4.2)      Maintains organized structure of inventory, put away in assigned locations, etc.

             4.3)      Maintains all equipment clean and orderly.

5) Computer System

            5.1)      Is gaining knowledge to understand EPICOR computer system, operation and inputs.

6) Skill Development

          6.1)      Shows the desire to learn new skills of the trade and advance beyond current position.

7) Operations

        7.1)      Able to rack / un-rack parts properly

        7.2)      Able to run racks of parts through the process without help

        7.3)      Able to keep multiple anodizing tanks operating at same time

        7.4)      learns to correctly identify quality issues due to poor work holding or process

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role will require a willingness to work overtime hours including weekends as needed. This position may require heavy lifting, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes wet and cold work area, process dip tanks, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.

Opportunity:

Tier I Anodizing Operator, Basic can advance to a Tier II position as skills, capabilities advance.
