Job Summary:
The Janitor at Pueblo Athletic Club is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and overall appearance of the fitness club. This role involves performing a range of cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a hygienic, safe, and welcoming environment for members and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Cleaning:
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub floors in all areas of the club.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, including sinks, toilets, showers, and floors.
- Wipe down and sanitize equipment, lockers, and common areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste properly.
- Facility Maintenance:
- Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies as needed.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Facility Manager.
- Assist with setting up or rearranging furniture and equipment for special events or classes.
- Member Services:
- Ensure that the fitness club maintains a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene.
- Address and respond to any immediate cleaning needs or concerns from members or staff.
- Maintain a friendly and professional demeanor when interacting with members.
- Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety and health regulations and standards.
- Follow proper procedures for the use and disposal of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in janitorial or custodial work, especially in a fitness or similar facility, is an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude.
Work Environment:
- The role will require working evenings, weekends. Schedule will be 4 hours per day, 6 days per week.
- The position involves regular physical activity, including lifting, bending, and standing.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals and varying temperatures may be required.
