What are the responsibilities and job description for the Casino Host position at Pueblo of Pojoaque?
JOB PURPOSE: Responsible for generating casino revenue while building loyalty among valued VIP customers and by developing relationships effectively utilizing marketing and upscale sales techniques.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Provides the highest level of customer service to recognize and maintain players at the casino
- Educates and encourages participation by Casino guests to use player club cards
- Maintains close ties with guests through personal contact and works directly with other Casino Hosts and the Call Center
- Ability to qualify guests for room and meal offers based upon play
- Proactively seeks new members on casino floor and externally in community
- Uses sound judgment and makes good decisions in accordance with established guidelines
- Handles difficult guests and situations in a calm, professional, and prudent manner
- Fully complies with all applicable rules, regulations, laws, and policies
- Conducts themselves with the highest levels of integrity and honesty
- Coordinates with Casino Hosts and leads other Representatives to maintain departmental goals
- Adheres to strict confidentiality in all matters
- Performs other job duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Extensive knowledge of casino and gaming commission policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Knowledge of the casino in general
- Superior customer service skills
- Ability to make and apply decisions properly and effectively
- Demonstrated leadership skills to lead and guide team members
- Demonstrated excellent communication, team-building, and customer relations skills
- Ability to handle a variety of customer requests and personalities; Must be people oriented and have a outgoing personality
- Ability to solve problems requiring judgment, ingenuity, and creativity in order to maintain a high quality of business activity within the casino.
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English; Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
- Ability to use computer software
REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma with additional applicable training/education
- proven track record of personally providing excellent customer service
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience working in teams
- Must present a well-groomed, professional appearance at all times
- Must have the manual dexterity to operate a computer and other necessary office equipment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Casino setting; shift work
- Required to work day, swing, evening, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Some travel required
- Walking-80%; Sedentary-20%; May walk around for up to 4 hours at a time
- Must be able to continuously maneuver around casino quickly
- Must be able to bend, crouch, kneel, twist, and work at a desk
- Responds to visual and auditory cues
- Exposure to cigarette smoke and noise
- Some exposure to VDT’s and CRT’s from computer use
