Cosmetologist

JOB PURPOSE: Able to provide professional nail, hair, skin, and body treatments to spa guests. Primary services performed will include natural nail treatments and/or hair cuts and blowouts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Provide natural nail and/or hair services, including manicures, pedicures, hair cuts, and blowouts according to Wo’ P’in Spa guidelines.
• Able to apply nail polish precisely and efficiently.
Educate guests with regards to at-home care and product recommendations.

• Utilize, maintain, and conduct an inventory of salon supplies and products.
• Maintain the highest standard of cleanliness, organization, and sanitization in all salon areas.
• Begin and end treatments promptly by adhering to the daily spa schedule.
• Demonstrate a warm and friendly attitude towards guests by engaging in appropriate conversation during services performed.
• Provide skincare services and body treatments during high-demand periods.
• Collaborate with Spa Director and Lead Massage Therapist in creating new protocols and treatments.
• Assist all guests with a kind and helpful demeanor whenever called upon.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required.
Maintain a respectful rapport with all Wo’ P’in Spa team members by assisting others when needed, approaching each task with a positive attitude, and contributing to the overall harmony of the spa environment.

• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES):

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• 1-3 years nail/hair care experience.
CPR certification is preferred.

• Must follow safety precautions and requirements.

REQUIRED EDUCATION OR COMBINATION OF EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid cosmetology license as required by the state of New Mexico.

• Experience in a resort spa setting preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Nails: Standing 10% / Walking 15% / Sitting 75%.
• Hair: Standing 95% / Walking 5%.
• Skin: Standing 40% / Walking 15% / Sitting 45%.
• Body: Standing 85% / Walking 10% / Sitting 5%.
• Ability to grasp, lift, push, pull, and carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop, and reach on a continuous basis up to an 8-hour shift.
• Required to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
