What are the responsibilities and job description for the GHWIC Program Manager (Good Health and Wellness in Indian Country) position at Pueblo of Pojoaque?
POSITION DESCRIPTION: This position will be responsible for the overall management of the Good Health and Wellness and Indian Country grant activities to include diabetes and disease prevention efforts, walking and physical activities, health fairs, mental and physical health education campaigns. This position will work closely with tribal, local and state resources to strengthen community wholistic wellness programming. They will assist program evaluators with budget expenditures and program progress reports. His position will assist in developing needs assessment studies in partnership with tribal programs. This position requires excellent organizational skills, independent thought, and the ability to work collaboratively and productively with a diverse group of clients, team members, technical assistance providers, and other service providers. Must demonstrate the ability to engage in a trauma-informed and resilient-based environment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
● M.A. level education in Public Health, Social Work, Counseling or relevant field preferred
● B.A. Public Health or Social work, Psychology would be considered with significant experience
● At least two years of relevant experience
● Experience working with Native Americans.
● Demonstrated experience with grants
● Demonstrated good verbal and writing skills.
● Displays strong leadership, management and interpersonal skills
● Demonstrated engagement in networking and strategic partnerships
● Strong clerical and computer/database skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
● Schedule program-related work, oversee daily operations, manage program activities and set program priorities
● Work closely with tribal programs to build collaborative efforts towards disease prevention, mental health, physical wellness and cultural connectedness
● Complete all documentation required by funder(s)
● Ensure compliance with program regulations
● Assist with budget monitoring and development, marketing and data collection
● Build sustainability of program(s)
● Provide technical assistance and training to stakeholders
● Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
● Gather and disseminate information on program-related research and training opportunities
