Job Summary
Under the supervision of Utilities Department Managers; performs maintenance of the Districts public infrastructure and property related to the Utilities Department. Performs electrical maintenance, repair, and assists in any of the following areas: plumbing, carpentry, HVAC. Work involves the preventive maintenance and repairs of water and wastewater facilities and equipment. Duties include troubleshooting and analyzing problems. This position works with Water/Wastewater technologies such as; Ultraviolet lamps, Belt Filter pressing, Chemical pumps, Metering pumps, Bulk Chemicals and High Capacity water pumps.

- Troubleshoots and analyzes problems to perform repairs.
- Perform maintenance of water and wastewater facilities and equipment.
- Make recommendations for purchase of equipment, supplies, and materials.
- Operate various power and hand tools, gauges and related tools.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and system diagrams.
- Advocates promoting health and safety in the workplace.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications (Note: Any acceptable combination of education, training and experience that provides the above knowledge, abilities and skills may be substituted.)
Required Education/Certifications Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Must have and maintain a valid Colorado class “R” driver’s license.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Three (3) years of experience in an electrical or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in an industrial setting.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Regular organizational business hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Actual work schedule can be flexible to balance organizational and personal needs outside of the normal business schedule. Work is subject to recurring deadlines and interruptions.
- Work varying shifts and schedules, including on-call, as needed and required by supervisor.
Special Requirements
- May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, treated and untreated water and wastewater.
- Adapt to unique and changing situations.
Physical Demands
- Repeated heavy lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, crawling, crouching and climbing.
- Work at work sites and construction zones requiring walking over uneven or rough terrain; awareness of surroundings; exposure to dust, weather conditions, equipment, noise, etc. Work may require occasional exposure to hazards; exposure to dirt and soil; temperature extremes and unusual environmental conditions. Subject to call back in emergencies. Use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards, hand tools, mechanical tools and devices. Appropriate professional interaction with others and in attendance at meetings of various sized groups and at various settings.
- Typical positions require workers to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 20 pounds; climb stairs, bend, reach, hold, grasp and turn objects; and use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak normally and to use normal or aided vision and hearing.
Unusual Demands
- Worker is required to provide assistance during call backs and emergencies, subject to reoccurring deadlines and interruptions, subject to work hazards and unpleasant conditions, occasional exposure to inclement weather, may be required to work beyond normally scheduled work hours.
This position is considered a “safety-sensitive” position and will be subject to monthly random drug and alcohol screening.
