Lanzando Líderes (LL) is an after-school program for adolescents grades 9-12 in the South Philadelphia Latinx immigrant community.
Duties:
- Foster and maintain positive, long-term relationships with students and families.
- Implement and manage regular out-of-school-time programming for high school students and families.
- Design and develop structure to expand Puentes’ high school education program.
- Identify and develop curricula and resources relevant to post-secondary education access for students and families.
- Recruit, train, and supervise program volunteers.
- Conduct outreach to community members and schools.
- Identify and develop relationships with other organizations and partners as relevant to supporting adolescent education work.
- Support the development of and actively manage compliance with safety logistics and procedures for all in-person programming and events.
- Track and analyze qualitative and quantitative program data for internal and external purposes.
- Engage in on-going program reflection and evaluation in collaboration with students, families, staff, and volunteers.
- Further develop and execute pilot newcomer youth programming, given strategic planning materials from predecessor
- Design and develop program structure relevant to the development of newcomer youth
- Identify and develop curricula and resources relevant to immigrant youth population success for students and families.
- Recruit students for program; Ideally manage relationship with local high school to recruit and host program on-site
- Recruit, train, and supervise relevant program staff
- Connect with other Puentes’ divisions to establish referral process and promote integrated service delivery
- Maintain relationships with local higher education institutions and develop opportunities for college volunteer recruitment
- Supervise program interns and delegate tasks promoting program development
- Collaborate with the Puentes Education Supervisor to co-lead and support regular out-of-school-time programming for middle school students and families to promote bridging our programming.
- Work with staff, students, and families to promote positive transitions for middle schoolers to high school and to Puentes’ high school education programming.
- Co-lead or collaborate on the above program development, data, and reflection activities as relevant to middle school programming.
- Contribute to the growth and advancement of the overall Puentes Education department.
- Collaborate with education team colleagues to develop and iterate strategies for student and parent leadership development and involvement in program decision-making.
- Collaborate with education team colleagues and other relevant staff to develop materials for grant applications and reporting, and funding opportunities to sustain Puentes’ education work.
- Collaborate with the larger Puentes de Salud team to integrate education programming with other services to better serve students, families, and clients.
- Support other aspects of Puentes’ education programming and/or Puentes’ work at large as needed.
