We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to join our team and oversee the successful execution of construction projects from inception to completion. We specialize in roofing, siding, windows/doors, and decks with the occasional remodel/addition/new builds.

Position Overview:

The Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety regulations and quality standards. This role requires a strong ability to manage resources, coordinate teams, and maintain effective communication with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning & Coordination:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans from start to finish, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with 'in-house' crews/subcontractors, material suppliers, clients and other team members to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Assist with defining the project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and ensure that they align with client expectations.

Budget & Cost Management:

  • Monitor project costs and ensure that the project stays within budget.
  • Approve purchase orders and track expenses, helping to ensure the timely payment of invoices.
  • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising project quality or safety.

Team Leadership & Management:

  • Lead and supervise the project team, including subcontractors, laborers, and site supervisors/foreman.
  • Ensure proper staffing levels for the project and manage resource allocation.
  • Provide direction, resolve conflicts, and foster a collaborative, productive work environment.

Quality & Safety Control:

  • Ensure that all work complies with building codes, regulations, and company standards.
  • Maintain a focus on safety, ensuring that all team members follow safety protocols and adhere to site safety guidelines.
  • Perform regular site inspections to monitor work progress, quality, and safety.

Client & Team Communication:

  • Deliver a truly FIVE STAR experience at every point of a project. The customer experience is a major point of emphasis for everyone here at Puetz Construction.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project progress.
  • Manage expectations and address any client concerns or issues promptly.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Problem-Solving & Risk Management:

  • Proactively identify potential project risks (schedule, cost, quality) and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Resolve on-site challenges efficiently, minimizing project delays.
  • Maintain a proactive approach to resolving technical or logistical issues.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports, cost reports, and other documentation to internal team members and clients.
  • Ensure all project-related paperwork/checklists, including contracts, change orders, and permits, are completed accurately and stored/saved appropriately.
  • Proficient with a smartphone/technology to utilitze specific third-party apps to assist with proper documentation, reporting and communication.

Content Creation & Social Media:

  • Willingness to plan and create content based around the projects you are overseeing and getting out of your comfort zone.
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities to set up and assist in the creation and maintenance of a content calendar and workflows.
  • An understanding of social media platforms, proven content strategies and analytical tools to drive engagement, increase visibility and brand awareness.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction/Project Management, Business Administration, Communications, or related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Must have a valid Drivers License.
  • Preferabley a minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Experience managing teams and coordinating subcontractors in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety regulations.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in construction/business software/apps (e.g., CompanyCam, JobNimbus, QuickBooks, Podium, Google Apps, or similar).
  • In-depth knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and financial management.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and contracts.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle stressful situations with a level-headed approach.

  • Preferably able to speak both English and Spanish, or willing to learn.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with Lean Construction or other advanced construction methodologies.
  • Experience with medium-scale commercial or residential projects.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work on construction sites, including frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to walk, stand, and navigate construction sites for extended periods.
  • Able to lift 100 lbs.
