Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Inventory Specialist to join our team. The Inventory Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring compliance with state regulations, and supporting the smooth daily operations of the dispensary. This position involves tracking cannabis products from receipt to sale, maintaining proper records, and conducting regular audits to ensure everything is accounted for and stored properly.
Duties
- Receive, inspect, and properly log incoming cannabis and non-cannabis inventory.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in seed-to-sale tracking systems (e.g., METRC, ).
- Organize and label inventory according to state compliance standards and company SOPs.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
- Track product transfers, disposals, and returns, and ensure proper documentation is completed.
- Collaborate with the sales floor and purchasing teams to forecast inventory needs and avoid shortages or overstock.
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and rotation of cannabis products to maintain freshness and compliance.
- Assist in preparing for and responding to compliance audits or inspections.
- Work closely with compliance and management to ensure all cannabis-related activity follows local/state laws.
- Report damaged, expired, or low-stock products to the appropriate departments.
Requirements
- 1 year experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or retail cannabis preferred.
- Familiarity with seed-to-sale tracking systems (e.g., METRC) a strong plus.
- Strong math, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (Excel, inventory software, POS systems).
- Understanding of cannabis compliance laws in your state is a major plus.
- Ability to pass all background checks and meet age requirements (21 ).
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with team members and stakeholders.
