Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring timely processing of invoices and payments. The ideal candidate will have experience with accounting for the construction industry, proficiency with accounting software such as Quickbooks, and a solid understanding of financial concepts.
Duties
- Process payroll and subcontractor payments as needed.
- Assist with customer segmentation for financial tracking and marketing insights.
- Utilize QuickBooks Online for financial tracking, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Use Buildxact for tracking financial data for individual projects and construction financial management.
- Prepare and file Washington State & Seattle taxes, including B&O tax, L&I, sales tax, and business excise tax.
- Maintain compliance with C-Corporation tax requirements.
- Develop and analyze financial reports, cash flow statements, and forecasts.
- Maintain accurate project cost tracking and budget monitoring.
- Process accounts payable transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
- Manage accounts receivable functions, including invoicing and collections.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliation to maintain accurate financial statements.
- Utilize accounting software to track financial transactions and generate reports.
- Assist in budgeting processes by providing necessary financial data and insights.
- Maintain organized records of all financial transactions for auditing purposes.
- Utilize 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry and processing of invoices.
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve discrepancies and improve financial processes.
Experience
- Previous experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable roles is required.
- Familiarity with C Corporation accounting practices.
- Proficiency in using accounting software, particularly Quickbooks, for managing financial records.
- Experience using construction software BuildXact.
- Strong understanding of financial concepts and principles related to budgeting and reconciliation.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with contractors, vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders regarding financial matters.
