Summary

As a Kitchen Assistant at Pugnuts Ice Cream and Gelato Shop, you will play an essential role in our kitchen operations, assisting in food preparation and ensuring a clean, efficient workspace. Position is from early April 2025-end of October 2025 with a BONUS paid at the end of the season.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of ice cream and gelato according to established recipes.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
• Support kitchen manager in food preparation tasks such as measuring, mixing, and cooking gelato.
• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures.
• Help keep track inventory by notifying management of low stock levels.

Qualifications

• Prior kitchen experience in a retail food establishment is preferred, but we will train a motivated applicant. (Paid two week training period.)
• Basic cooking skills with a passion for food preparation.
• Knowledge of food handling safety practices is essential.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen setting.
• Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration.
• Availability from early April through the end of October 2025.
• Physically able to stand/bend/lift 20-25 pounds for 7-8 hour shift.
• Good personal hygiene habits.(Clean/short nails, no offensive BO, clean work attire)
• Reliable transportation to/from work.
