The Opportunity
The Product Development Manager works closely with the Senior Product Development Manager, Production team, and Design team throughout the Product Development life cycle.
What you'll get to do
- Update seasonal WIP report chart following daily design updates.
- Manage out-of-house patternmakers and oversee domestic factory sample making.
- Work closely with PD Senior Manager to order and distribute materials to overseas factories, as well as track sample status and deliveries.
- Work closely with Fabric Director to order and distribute seasonal fabrics, as well as monitor fabric deadlines.
- Attend fittings and take accurate fit notes to distribute to each patternmaker. Ensure all necessary pending items are addressed during fitting.
- Manage atelier workflow to ensure optimal efficiency.
- Provide patternmakers with daily updates on their styles when necessary, attend atelier pass-offs with design team, ensure proto yardage availability, outsource cutting when needed, purchase local atelier supplies as requested, and monitor design / atelier communication to ensure optimum efficiency.
- Track and review alterations to ensure everything is completed accurately and on schedule.
- Work closely with PD Assistant Manager to accurately hand-off all domestic developments to production team, including passing accurate cut sheets and maintaining a BOM record for each style.
- Work closely with production team to ensure accurate handoff of collection.
- Assist with showroom set up for fittings, styling and show prep.
- Assist with all tasks related to show / shoot preparation and market preparation.
- Launch, oversee, and budget MTO and special projects.
- Utilize GCS program to issue POs and create BOMs.
- Receive, review, and approve factory invoices.
- Track seasonal development budget across various categories including proto development, trim, fabric, accessories, embroideries, models.
A reasonable estimate of the current hourly rate is $40-$50 / hour USD .
