Leads the Landscaping staff in fulfilling all functions of the Landscaping operation assigned by the Supervisor. Properly operates all equipment and hand tools, performs work on PVC irrigation systems, and performs various landscape functions. Works with the Supervisor and is responsible for oral and written reports on activities assigned by the Supervisor and/or management staff to Landscaping workers for the purpose of maintaining the landscape using “best practices.”
Compensation

Essential Duties
- Assist the Supervisor in training Landscaping staff in all landscape-related functions.
- Lead in performing of Landscaping duties, which includes all levels of service needed inthe Landscaping operation.
- Lead the Landscaping staff with keeping landscape materials organized, clean, and orderly while ensuring proper operation for all on-going Landscaping activities.
- Lead in maintaining the inventory for all Landscaping projects, including all materials needed in watering; weeding; fertilizing; and organizing all landscape materials.
- When needed, assist the Plant Health Technician with application of fertilizers and pesticides. Measure and apply fertilizers and amendments to soils and plants, both organic and non- organic.
- Maintain professional appearance and operation of uniform, tools, and equipment as assigned for Landscaping activities.
- Actively participate and lead in training, support, direction, and guidance from Supervisors. Participate in team building activities and projects in Landscaping, including working together on multiple-person projects.
- Remain knowledgeable in all phases of work under jurisdiction. Directs the employees assigned to work in jurisdiction.
- Report all maintenance and repairs required for equipment to the Supervisors.
- Operate all equipment, tools, and machines as required in a safe and appropriate manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in the Landscaping and or Nursery industry.
- Previous experience as a Lead, preferred.
- Requires relating to people in a friendly and professional manner.
- Requires working to established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
- Requires good verbal and written communication skills.
- Requires the ability to follow oral and writteninstructions.
- Able to think and make effective decisions quickly.
- Ability to create effective working relationships with employees.
- Must be able to maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.
- Must be flexible and available to work on weekends and/or holidays, depending upon scheduled days of operation and season.
- Valid Hawaii Driver’s License and successful review of Motor Vehicle Record
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
- The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
- The employee is occasionally required to operate objects, tools, or controls.
