Job Description

Under supervision of the Mechanic 1 / C, Lead Mechanic, and Supervisor, the Tire Technician II specializes in servicing, repairing, replacing, and maintaining auto, light / medium / heavy truck, and construction equipment tires. Performs mechanical tasks of moderate difficulty requiring skilled manual operations.

Compensation :

22.73 / hour (non-exempt)

This is a Union position with 1 opening.

Reporting Relationship :

Reports to : Fleet Maintenance Manager, Lead Mechanic

Supervises : n / a

Responsibilities

Essential Duties

  • Execute a sequence of operations within standard procedures, guided by established protocols.
  • Inspect and repair damages on tires to ensure road safety and usability.
  • May assist in supervising assigned employees.
  • Perform mounting, rotating, installing, and repairing of passenger vehicle tires.
  • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of the shop.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining tire inventory.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

    Qualification / Requirements :

  • Training / experience / exposure to the automotive repair business preferred.
  • Must possess necessary hand tools for the job.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to relate to people in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Commitment to following established procedures and maintaining reliable work attendance.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Capacity to make effective decisions quickly.
  • Ability to cultivate effective working relationships.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and work under pressure.
  • Required Work Cards / Certifications :

  • Valid Hawaii Driver's License and successful review of Motor Vehicle Record
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, use hands to handle objects, reach with hands and arms, climb, stoop, kneel, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distant vision, and color vision.
