Join a fun and engaging educational team supporting students in all settings!
7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
The interpreter provides interpreting and/or transliterating services for deaf and hearing students in the educational environment. This environment includes classrooms, field trips, assemblies, counseling sessions, club
meetings, extracurricular activities, IEP meetings, and other educational settings. The interpreter facilitates communication through use of sign language, spoken English, cultural mediation, and knowledge about visual
accessibility.
Educational Interpreter/Deaf or Hard of Hearing Certification (License #884)
Educational Interpreter/Deaf or Hard of Hearing Certification (License #884).
Completion of an interpreter preparation program or equivalent experience.
Ability to interpret/translate (expressive and voice) at a normal conversational rate.
Ability to provide oral interpreting/transliterating (expressive and voice).
Ability to carry out, under supervision of professional staff, programs established for student(s).
Demonstrated ability to:
work collaboratively
carry out emergency/crisis response procedures
perform all computer technology tasks associated with the position
maintain confidentiality
communicate positively/effectively with students, parents, staff, patrons
