Irwin, CA, US 92310Career Level Experienced (Non-Manager)Salary Range $38.83 per hourContract ATMPTravel No TravelJob DescriptionThe HVAC Mechanic position supports the Army Training Aids, Devices, Simulators and Simulations Maintenance Program (ATMP) contract at Fort Irwin, California.Job duties include :
- Perform skilled electrical maintenance work in the repair, maintenance and alteration of HVAC equipment, components, timers, motors and wiring systems as needed, and connect motors to control panels.
- Conducts performance calibrations, rebuilds, conducts performance tuning, teardown, failure analysis, and preventive maintenance of HVAC systems.
- Calibrates and troubleshoots all electronic control systems.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and maintains all HVAC-related electronics.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, rebuilds, maintains, and performance tunes all types of power systems related to HVAC systems.
- Repairs all types of air compressors, pumps, and controls including troubleshooting, repair, and rebuilding of equipment following manufacturers' recommendations and manuals.
- Performs OSHA based lock-out / tag-out procedures.
- Maintains systems where components and functions are monitored with microprocessors.
- Inspects and repairs systems within technical guidelines as outlined under current publications, following blueprints or engineering specifications.
- Captures and records accurate and timely maintenance history ensuring unique corrective measures for work orders and repair are annotated into the Management Information System (MIS).
- Shares maintenance issues and general operations updates with the supervisor and / or Lead HVAC Mechanic. Receives technical guidance, as required, from supervisor or Lead HVAC Mechanic.
- Supports quality / ISO, security and safety training programs.
- Safeguards all assigned equipment issued by PULAU Corporation against loss, theft, and damage.
- Responds to after hour HVAC failure repair calls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.Job Requirements
- Must possess high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have (5) year's past experience with commercial HVAC systems.
- Must have knowledge of the characteristics and usage of lubricants, coolants, and fuels.
- Must be able to perform OSHA based lock-out / tag-out procedures.
- Must have experience with researching HVAC repair parts and able to correctly identify and order parts for a variety of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment.
- Must have a basic understanding of military range control and field training operations.
- Prefer familiarity with military phraseology and acronyms.
- Must know how to orient and read a military map to an eight-digit grid coordinate, and experience operating a four-wheel drive vehicle in desert conditions.
- Ability to accurately read measuring devices, testing equipment, and instruments.
- Possess a valid CA driver's license and able to obtain and maintain post access and driving privileges.
- Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs and may have to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- U.S. Citizenship required.
- Able to obtain / maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
