Job Overview/Summary
The Network Engineer will be responsible for the configuration, security management, and maintenance of a large-scale IT network that includes multiple manufacturers' networking equipment, Windows/Linux servers, databases, VMware, and security hardware/software. This role involves working in a team to enhance, monitor, and secure a complex IT infrastructure spanning geographically dispersed LAN and WAN environments. Responsibilities include managing network upgrades, improving performance, and maintaining system security through timely vulnerability assessments and remediations.
Responsibilities
Configure and manage routers, switches, and firewalls within a multi-vendor environment. Provide network administration and problem resolution for the enterprise network. Implement IT/network enhancements and address network issues promptly. Communicate system outage statuses and provide timely user support via calls and emails. Maintain detailed network documentation to aid in incident resolution. Collaborate with IT service providers to ensure evolving LAN/WAN architecture supports customer requirements. Conduct information assurance vulnerability alerts (IAVAs) and execute monthly system security scans. Plan, manage, and document system upgrades for networks and servers. Assess system changes, analyze system data, and implement performance enhancements. Participate in the development of technical documents, including installation instructions and as-built designs. Provide after-hours support on a rotational on-call basis; travel may be required (

Primary Skills
- Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (FSP).
- Proficient in Cisco, Palo Alto, and F5 systems hardware/software.
- Experience in troubleshooting and root cause diagnosis for networking equipment.
- Direct user assistance and strong analytic abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter, able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adherence to best practices, maintenance windows, and change control procedures.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related field with 8 years of experience.
- Extensive experience with various vendor networking products.
- Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
- Ability to support occasional after-hours network maintenance and troubleshooting.
