Position Overview: An MRI Technologist is a healthcare professional who specializes in operating magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment to create detailed images of the body's internal structures. MRI technologists play a crucial role in diagnostic imaging and patient care, using advanced technology to help physicians diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions. A Day in the Life: Perform MRI scans on patients according to physician orders. Position and instruct patients for imaging procedures to obtain clear and accurate images. Operate MRI equipment and adjust scan parameters to capture high-quality images. Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures, including monitoring for adverse reactions to contrast agents. Maintain detailed patient records and documentation of imaging exams. Adhere to safety protocols and regulations related to magnetic fields, radiation, and patient care. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Provide education and support to patients undergoing MRI scans. Stay current on developments in MRI technology through ongoing training and professional development. Demonstrate professionalism, empathy, and compassion in all interactions with patients and colleagues. About You! This Job is For You if You Have: Possess a current Washington State License as a Radiologic Technologist Certification. MRI registered through ARRT. One or more years’ experience in Radiography, preferably in MRI. Clinical skills for conducting examinations and procedures. Strong communication skills with patients and healthcare team. Demonstrating empathy and compassion towards patients. Critical thinking for evaluating patient needs and developing treatment plans. Attention to detail in documenting patient information accurately. Ability to work effectively in a healthcare team. Efficient time management for prioritizing tasks and appointments. Adaptability to changing patient needs and healthcare protocols. Cultural competence in understanding diverse patient populations. Adherence to ethical and legal standards in patient care.
