POSITION OVERVIEW

Pullman Standard is an upscale cocktail lounge located in the iconic Cummins Station building focused on top-shelf liquor and wine, inventive craft cocktails, and creative small plates.

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing all menu items to specifications and holding the quality of products while fostering a clean and safe environment. Some of the menu items youd be expected to produce include housemade chips, onion dip, pimento cheese dip, cheese and charcuterie boards, General Tso cauliflower, chicken tacos, and other creative small plates. The expected hours would be 30-40 hours per week.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepares all food for guests following standard recipes, portion controls and presentation specifications.
Uses various prep and cooking methods to ensure the quick, precise creation of our menu items.
Cleans, organizes and maintains refrigerators, cooler drawers, ovens, prep and dry storage areas, etc.
Opens and closes the kitchen following standard specifications set by management.
Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment and utensils.
Maintains food safety and sanitation standards.
Work closely with bartenders to ensure smooth service flow.

The above-listed duties are not all inclusive. This position is expected to perform other work-related duties as assigned even though they may not be considered primary duties.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

Experience Required :

High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent, preferred

Previous experience as a cook or in a food service role preferred

Must pass a criminal background check

Skills and Knowledge Required

Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills and command of the English language.

Good judgment and decision-making skills.

Reliable, responsible, and dependable.

Physical Requirements :

Must be able to stand, walk, reach and prepare food for prolonged periods.

Must be able to push, pull and lift objects from a lower to higher position or move objects horizontally, from position to position.

Must be able to carry loads greater than 35 pounds and exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and / or up to 30 pounds of force frequently.

Able to work varied shifts, including evenings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
