Pulmonary Associates of Richmond, a fully independent, physician-owned, pulmonary, allergy, and sleep medicine practice, is seeking to hire a full-time, partner track, sleep physician.
Responsibilities
Provide expert clinical evaluations, diagnosis and treatment of patients with sleep disorders. Read sleep studies and prescribe and manage CPAP therapy, oral appliances, medication therapy and other treatment modalities as needed. Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Educate patients and their families on sleep disorders, treatment options and lifestyle modification to approve sleep quality.
Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine and active Board Certification in Sleep Medicine.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Medical office/exam room settings. Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medical preparations, and other conditions common to clinic environments. Frequent contact with a variety of people.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, some lifting. Occasional stress from dealing with multiple tasks and tense patients. Requires full range of motion, manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stress in emergency situations and irregular hours.

The practice maintains 3 sleep labs with a total of 12 beds and a busy home sleep testing program. We also provide inpatient consultative services at 7 hospitals.
