We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our healthcare team. Duties

- Utilize coding systems such as ICD-9, , and DRG to assign appropriate codes for billing purposes.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on unpaid claims to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Maintain organized medical records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in documentation or coding.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations, coding guidelines, and insurance policies.
- Assist in resolving billing inquiries from patients or insurance companies as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven and coding within a medical office setting is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-9, ICD-10), DRG classifications, and medical records management.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software is advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for reviewing complex information.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with healthcare professionals, patients, and insurance representatives.
- Certification in medical billing or coding (e.g., CPC, CCS) is a plus but not required.
