Duties:
- Provide exceptional patient service by greeting and assisting patients in a friendly and professional manner
- Perform medical administrative support tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining patient records, and managing billing and coding processes
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
- Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse rate, and respiration rate
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort
- Administer basic life support measures when necessary
- Collect specimens for laboratory testing and perform basic laboratory procedures
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare providers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Proficiency in performing vital signs measurements accurately
- Ability to provide excellent patient care with empathy and compassion
- Knowledge of medical coding principles and practices
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
- Experience with X-ray procedures is a plus
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is highly desirable
- Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is preferred
