$4,500/month Paramedic- Cruise Ship Contract!!!

Job Details

Paramedics are responsible for providing high standards of individualized routine and emergency care to guests and crew. Paramedics act as a first responder, triaging emergency calls, assessing and treating on scene, and transferring patients to the shipboard medical center for definitive care. Through the use of specific patient group directives, paramedics are able to practice autonomously under the authority of doctors, assessing patients and providing treatment and advice for specific conditions. In additional to first response duties, paramedics work closely with shipboard nurses and doctors to attend to patients attending daily walk-in clinics.  

Paramedics also perform various technical and non-clinical administrative tasks that support the efficient and safe operation of the medical center under the direction and supervision of the Senior Nurse. Additional duties include equipment checks, medicines and inventory management, participation in drills, audits, inspections and training of other crew members. Technical skills are learned and practiced on board, such as X-rays acquisition, and performing a wide-array of laboratory tests and other procedures.

All medical staff provide high level of customer service, maintaining a professional, dignified, friendly, assertive, and polite manner at all times, towards both guests and fellow crewmembers, and demonstrate performance consistent with the Vision, Mission and Strategic Plan of the organization.

Required: BMI under 30 and clean dental exam no later than 6 months ago that clears you of cavities, dental disease, abscess', and things like that.

Salary: $4,500/month (prorated based on start date)
Contract Duration: A commitment to completing a 6-week-4-month contract (6 weeks minimum, 4 months maximum)   
Schedule: 10-12 hours per day, 7 days per week, day shift
Logistical Accommodations: Paid for by cruise line (flight, hotel, transportation within 24 hours of departure)
Dining: Complimentary 3 meals and snacks. Alcohol consumption is strictly prohibited.
Experience: Minimum 3 years post graduate clinical experience in paramedicine, emergency medicine or other acute care settings including remote medicine, and most recent experience should be in a clinical setting. Additional details below.
Vaccination Status: Must have Covid-19 and flu vaccine, no exceptions
Passport Status: Must have active US passport and passport cannot expire within 6 months of first day
Diploma Requirement: Must provide a copy of an Advanced Life Support Paramedic Qualification (or equivalent)
License Requirements: Paramedics need to hold a national registration as a Paramedic, no EMTs are accepted                                   
Other Healthcare Requirements: Must take a physical prior to departure 

APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

Paramedic applicants must hold an Advanced Life Support Paramedic Qualification (or equivalent) and current registration and licensing to practice with an appropriate governmental or national regulatory body (American paramedics need to hold a national registration as a Paramedic, no EMTs are accepted). Applicants must have at least three years post graduate clinical experience in paramedicine, emergency medicine or other acute care settings including remote medicine, and most recent work experience should be in a clinical setting. Additional requirements include:

• A valid accredited ALS/ACLS certificate prior to joining a vessel
• PALS certification may be required before completing the first year of employment
• Eligibility to be issued a United States C1/D Visa (Not applicable for US and Canadian citizens)
• Fluency in English, both conversational and technical
• Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Windows 7 (or higher) and MS Office programs
• Experience with use of electronic health records is preferred
• Outstanding interpersonal, customer services and communication skills
