Job Summary
The primary role in this position is to drive Quality improvements company wide. As a Quality Assurance Manager, the holder will assist in overseeing the production process ensuring quality standards are met and spot checking product as necessary; the holder will maintain/develop/document existing or future quality standards and assist in the implementation of them; the holder will assist in providing direction to the quality department leads informing/training in any new processes, policies, standards, or gauges; the holder will also ensure Quality Control and will make decisions and take necessary action to ensure quality is met; the holder will be heavily involved in the CARE process and reporting, working with team members across all departments to ensure the customer’s needs are met; lastly the holder will document and maintain the Quality reporting, distributing monthly or as necessary. Under this role, the holder will rely heavily on data or numbers in their pursuit of truth and best practices, driving Quality towards ISO standards. Success is largely determined by the ability to show measurable improvement in its Quality Control / Quality reporting.
Essential Job Functions
- Support efforts to develop and sustain a culture of waste reduction and affect an ongoing and sustained improvement in product and process quality through Root Cause Analysis.
- Develop and improve existing metrics and standards for quality control and troubleshooting of manufacturing technical problems.
- Trouble shooting problems associated with manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot issues related to part quality, lead implementation of changes to correct.
- Recommend and coordinate process improvement activities with the Line Support and Operations groups (Lean initiatives).
- Always be looking for ways to eliminate waste through efforts of Quality Control
- Enter, purge, and maintain data within different documents and systems (Quality Summary, Quality Reporting, SOP’s, CARE database, KPI’s, Etc.)
- Assist in analyzing product failures that occur during the production process and/or in the customer’s field application of the product to determine causes and present solutions to failures.
- Creates and maintains databases/in-line process documents for quality history and testing; working with Suppliers (raw material testing, certs, etc.)
- Instructs employees on documentation, procedures, and standards.
- Monitor, measure and report on Quality related process performance and general issues to enhance production quality and maximize efficiency. Takes corrective action for any performance shortfall and unacceptable nonconformities.
- Attend meetings as required and complete required paperwork, reports, and support functions.
- Provide training on Quality standards to production staff and any related departments.
- Provide direction to quality leads as necessary to improve the quality process
Requirements and Qualifications
Requires bachelor’s degree in engineering / process improvement / quality assurance or control or will consider equivalent experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in an elastomer and/or steel component environment. Typically requires 4 or more years of engineering experience. Knowledge or previous experience within Quality Assurance and ISO is preferred.
Travel
Rarely required travel to customer or vendor sites, which could entail travel outside the country or local area requiring overnight stays.

Work Environment
While preforming the job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and loud repetitive equipment. Work is performed indoors in a non-temperature controlled industrial environment, with occasional extreme temperature conditions. Work may be performed outside of the office traveling in a vehicle or in an outside environment in a customer plant or location. At all times the proper personal protective equipment is to be worn and safety procedures of the company, customer, or vendor are to be followed. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Requirements
