Wine Tasting Room Associate

Job Description:

Puma Road Winery/Pessagno Winery is looking for a dynamic, driven employee to join our tasting room sales team. We are seeking a candidate who is highly motivated, confident, communicative, as well as hospitality and sales driven. This position is responsible for ensuring that customers have a positive and memorable experience at our winery tasting rooms. To succeed as part of our sales team you must operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment, as well as be a team player, and excel at providing exemplary customer service. You must have a passion for wine and for learning the details of the wines we produce and our general operations.

This is a part time position, approximately 3 days a week at our River Road locations. Most of our team members have been with us for years, we have very little turnover, making this position availability a rare and exciting opportunity for the right person.

QUALIFICATIONS: Tasting Room Associate

*Must be flexible and have the ability to work weekends, evenings and some holidays (shifts from 4-7 hours)

*Outstanding customer service and excellent communication skills

*Professional appearance and demeanor

*Detail oriented and able to multi-task

*Sales experience preferred…. especially retail or wine sales

*Ability to be a team player and have a flexible schedule

*Strong organization skills and work ethic

*Friendly, warm and able to connect with customers

*Must be 21 years of age as required by State law

*Able to lift 50lbs on a regular basis

*Must be able to stand for extended periods of time as well as walk, lift, stoop, squat and bend

*High school diploma or equivalent and/or qualified experience required

JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Tasting Room Associate

*Open and close our tasting rooms following all procedures

*Greeting customers promptly and courteously

*Have excellent people skills and be able to always project a friendly and helpful manner

*Guide customers to wine they enjoy

*Provide tastings, glasses and bottles to customers

*Be able to talk about our wines, vineyards and varietals

*Communicate our story

*Describe wines, winemaking techniques, winery history and provide general tourist information

*Promote the sale of wines, wine clubs, food items and merchandise

*Assist customers with transporting wine to their vehicles

*Must be open to working on-site special events after hours if needed as well as occasional offsite events

*Stock wine and merchandise

*Keep tasting room clean and organized

*Accurately perform daily wine inventory

*Perform cash count regularly and accurately

*Handle multiple customers, groups, and situations simultaneously with poise and professionalism

*Communicate and work effectively with management

*Must possess an Alcohol Beverage Certification (ABC) Responsible Beverage Servers Certification or be able to get one upon hire.
