What are the responsibilities and job description for the DRIVER - CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY position at Pumford Construction?
Pumford Construction, Inc. is currently in need of a CDL A heavy haul driver to transport material and equipment to and from various construction job sites.
This job requires a current CDL A; Lowboy experience preferred. All trucking is lower Michigan and overnight trips are not required.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Drive truck with capacities greater than 3 tons, including tractor-trailer combinations, to transport and deliver materials and / or equipment.
- Secure cargo for transport, using ropes, blocks, chain, binders, or covers.
- Inspect loads to ensure that cargo is secure.
- Check vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order.
- Load or unload trucks or help others with loading or unloading, using special loading-related equipment or other equipment as necessary.
- Provide top notch customer service.
- Function always with a safety-first mentality.
- Basic understanding and knowledge of building materials
- Must be willing to learn the tools and equipment of the construction trade.
- Must be dependable and show up on time for all assignments.
- Willing to work weekends and overtime as required.
