Punahou’s food services encompass the logistics of feeding over 3,600 students and 600 faculty and staff daily with a choice of offerings in the dining rooms and snack bar. The school continues its commitment to providing healthy food options with emphasis on fresh fruits and vegetables, low-fat, high-protein meats, locally grown meats and produce, a minimal amount of processed foods served, no artificial trans fats, no high fructose corn syrups and no deep-fat fried foods as well as sustainable choices in the operation of the cafeteria.
Punahou is actively recruiting a Full Time Food Service Worker to join the Cafeteria team. The Food Service Worker supports the food service area with responsibilities for preparing, serving, and storing food items for students, faculty and staff. They will also maintain food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition, and performs routine cashiering tasks and operates the school’s computerized point of sale system. Timely and regular attendance is critical to Punahou's effective and efficient operation and is an essential condition of employment in order to ensure adequate staffing, positive employee morale, and to meet productivity requirements.
Position Details:
- Work Year: 10.5 Months
- School Year: 2024-2025
- Work Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Schedule may vary based on operational needs
- Minimum Hourly Rate*: $17.00/Hour - Compensation is commensurate with qualifications.

Pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant training and experience, and internal equity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience in food preparation, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior working knowledge of point-of-sale systems preferred.
- Food Handler Certification or equivalent is required. If the incumbent does not have this certification coming into the position, he/she will be required to obtain the certification, or equivalent, within 6 months from entering into the job. ServSafe Certification is preferred.
