Punahou School is actively recruiting a Full Time Security Guard Shift Leader to join the Campus Safety and Security team! The Lead focuses on protecting the people and property on the Punahou School campus and assists the public by providing directions, information, escort service, and other aid (as needed). They will be responsible for campus safety and security, crime prevention, and attentiveness to specific safety hazards including traffic control. Ensures proper patrol of Punahou School’s campus to prevent or manage incidents of theft, vandalism, fire or fire hazards, disorderly conduct, and violation of school traffic, safety, and security protocols, in addition, detect and prevent attempts by persons to violate the law. They will also oversee shift personnel to ensure that work procedures and policies are being followed as well as be responsible for the organization and coordination of duties as delegated by the Director or designee. Position Details:
- Work Year: 12 Months
- Work Hours: Morning Shift: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, or Swing Shift: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, or Graveyard Shift: 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM, Schedule may vary based on operational needs
- Minimum Hourly Rate*: $21.37/Hour - Compensation is commensurate with qualifications.

Pay for selected candidates will be determined by various factors such as knowledge, skills, abilities, relevant training and experience, and internal equity.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or General Education degree (GED) equivalent.
- Possession of a guard card and approved registration with the State of Hawaii Board of Private Detectives & Guards; Department of Commerce & Consumer Affairs Division (DCCA).
- Current and valid Hawaii Driver’s License.
- First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification required.
- If the incumbent does not have a current First Aid, CPR, AED Certification, they will be required to obtain one within six (6) months from entering the job.

- Two (2) years of experience in customer service or a related field required.
- One (1) year of work experience and/or training in law enforcement or security preferred.
- One (1) year supervisory experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using email, Windows, Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and Google applications.
- Surveillance and observation skills.
- Guard certification classroom instruction, including the passing of a written test and on-the-job training.
- Familiar with campus protocols and procedures necessary to ensure public welfare and safety in our campus buildings and grounds.
- Knowledge, skill, and proficient ability in the operation of radio communication equipment.
- Knowledge of various campus systems, but not limited to: Alarm Monitoring, Electronic Locks, Fire Alarms, Elevators, AC/Ventilation, Lighting and AV.
- Familiarity with report writing.
