Position Overview: Pungitore Irrigation & Fertilizer is seeking a Fertilizer Technician to join our growing team. If you have experience in fertilizer application and lawn care treatments but are looking for a position where you can continue to learn and expand your skills, this is the ideal opportunity for you. As a Fertilizer Technician, you will be responsible for applying treatments according to our Fertilizer and Lawn Care Program, working independently, and managing your own schedule. This position reports directly to the Fertilizer Operations Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fertilizer & Lawn Treatments: Apply fertilizers and other treatments to both residential and commercial properties following our specific lawn care program.
- Property Assessments: Measure and evaluate properties to create accurate estimates for new fertilizer and lawn care applications.
- Problem Diagnosis: Identify issues with lawns, such as nutrient deficiencies, pests, weeds, or environmental factors, and recommend the best solutions or treatments.
- Customer Education: Offer expert advice to clients on lawn care, including seasonal maintenance and effective strategies to achieve healthy, lush lawns.
- Equipment Management: Operate and maintain fertilizer application equipment, ensuring it is calibrated and functioning efficiently.
- Record Keeping & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of treatments and services using company systems, ensuring clear communication for both clients and team members.
- Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines and regulations to ensure safe fertilizer application, protecting both clients and the environment.

Requirements
Desired Qualifications:
- Pesticide License (required): A valid pesticide license for lawn care treatments.
- Experience: Some experience in lawn care, fertilization, or related fields preferred, though we are open to candidates eager to expand their skills.
- Ability to Work Independently: Capable of managing daily schedules and completing tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Strong Communication Skills: Comfortable speaking with clients, explaining treatments, and addressing concerns in a professional manner.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to assess lawn conditions and determine the best treatment plans.
- Physical Stamina: Able to perform physical tasks, including outdoor work, lifting, and handling application equipment. Must be able to be on feet up to 10 hours a day and lift heavy weight.
- Commercial Vehicle Operation: Ability to operate commercial vehicles and pass a DOT Medical Exam.
- Driver’s License & Transportation: Valid US driver’s license and reliable daily transportation.
