Job Summary:

• The Irrigation Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for a variety of clients. This role will involve coordinating a team of technicians, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet the highest standards of quality. Additionally, the Irrigation Manager will engage directly with clients to scope new opportunities, drive sales by upselling additional work, and contribute hands-on support where needed to troubleshoot, problem-solve, and ensure the efficiency of all projects. The role will also include inventory management to ensure adequate supplies and equipment are available for operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in irrigation design, water management, team leadership, sales, and inventory oversight, with a high level of accountability for all aspects of their team’s performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sales & Customer Engagement: Meet with clients to scope new irrigation opportunities, identify needs, and sell services. Take the initiative to upsell additional work and make recommendations for improvements or upgrades that will benefit the client. Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and continued business.
• Project Management: Supervise and manage irrigation installation and maintenance projects from start to finish. Coordinate schedules, materials, labor, and resources to ensure timely project completion, maintaining accountability for deadlines and quality standards.
• Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor a team of irrigation technicians, holding them accountable for meeting performance goals, following safety protocols, and delivering quality work. Provide ongoing feedback, conduct regular performance reviews, and create professional development plans for direct reports.
• Direct Report Management: Oversee and manage the performance of direct reports, ensuring alignment with company goals, standards, and values. Hold team members accountable for individual and team performance, addressing areas of improvement, and recognizing achievements.
• Irrigation Design & Planning: Review blueprints and work with clients to design and implement customized irrigation systems that meet both functional and environmental needs, ensuring all designs are completed accurately and within budget.
• Maintenance & Repairs: Oversee the regular inspection, testing, and maintenance of existing irrigation systems, ensuring technicians follow protocols and deadlines for repairs, diagnosing issues, and resolving them efficiently.
• Troubleshooting & Problem Solving: Jump in as needed to troubleshoot and problem-solve on complex issues, ensuring effective solutions are found. Be hands-on when necessary, assisting with physical labor and resolving challenges that may arise during project execution.
• Inventory Management: Oversee the inventory of irrigation equipment, materials, and supplies. Ensure the proper ordering, stocking, and maintenance of inventory to minimize delays in project execution. Track usage, optimize inventory levels, and ensure tools and supplies are available for all jobs, contributing to efficient operations.
• Accountability for Capacity Planning: Contribute to planning, ensuring proper staffing levels and resources to meet project demands. Ensure jobs are completed efficiently, on time, and within budget.
• Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring clear communication, addressing concerns promptly, and providing expert advice. Hold team members accountable for customer satisfaction and follow-through.
• Compliance & Reporting: Ensure all work complies with local regulations and industry standards. Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project status, holding the team accountable for documentation and reporting accuracy.
• Budget Management: Assist in estimating project costs, preparing bids, and managing project budgets to ensure cost-effective solutions. Ensure the team adheres to budget constraints and track expenses carefully.
• Innovation & Technology: Stay up-to-date with the latest irrigation technologies and trends, recommending new solutions for continuous improvement. Hold the team accountable for staying informed and applying innovative solutions.
• Accountability: Take ownership of project outcomes, quality of work, and team performance. Regularly assess team members’ productivity, conduct performance reviews, and address areas for improvement. Hold self and team accountable for meeting objectives, adhering to timelines, and delivering high-quality results.

Requirements

 Qualifications:

• Proven experience as an Irrigation Manager or similar role in the landscaping, agriculture, or construction industry.
• In-depth knowledge of irrigation systems, design principles, and water management techniques.
• Strong sales skills with the ability to identify new opportunities, upsell services, and drive business growth.
• Experience with inventory management, including ordering, tracking, and optimizing stock to support efficient project execution.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and hold a team accountable.
• Experience managing direct reports, including conducting performance reviews, providing constructive feedback, and fostering professional growth.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and provide hands-on support when needed.
• Excellent project management, organizational, and time-management abilities.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maps, and other technical documents.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Proficiency in using irrigation design software and other related tools.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Certification in irrigation design, management, or related fields (e.g., Irrigation Association Certification) is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs) and work in physically demanding environments.

Salary : $65,000 - $85,000
