- Position: ESY Paraprofessional
- When: July 7th- August 1 (must work all 16 days 4 days per week, for 4 weeks)
- Time:8:30 am-12:30 pm
- Hourly Rate: $28 per hour worked
- Format: In person 4 days a week
- Reports to: Director of Student Services (or Designee)
This position is contingent on enrollment.
Extended School Year - Paraprofessional (Summer 2025)
**THIS IS A SUMMER POSITION. EMPLOYMENT IS SEASONAL AND TEMPORARY**
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Extended School Year (ESY) is a Special Education program for students with disabilities whose IEP team has determined that in order to minimize substantial regression and reduce substantial recoupment time, a student is required to attend ESY. These services will be based upon the individual needs of the students per their IEP goals/objectives.
PROGRAM SCHEDULE:
The work hours for paraprofessionals and the instructional hours for students are 4 hours per day, 4 days per week, for 4 weeks from July 7 to August 1, 2025.
The paraprofessional is expected to:
- Work all 16 days (4-hour days, 4 days per week, for 4 weeks) of the program as well as PD days. PD dates are subject to change but may include the dates below. Please save the dates:
- Monday, Jun 23, 2025
- Tuesday, Jun 24, 2025
- Wednesday, Jun 25, 2025
- Assist in classroom set up and pack up classroom and materials.
- Review folder for each ESY student including IEP, Progress Reports, Behavior Plans, and Work Samples Prior to the start of ESY.
- Assist with compilation of data and preparation of progress reports due last week of the program.
- Provide educational support individualized to the needs of each student under the direction of Special Education Teacher or Related Service Provider
- Implement behavior plans and collect data as directed by the Special Education Teacher or Related Service Provider
- Provide support with activities of daily living as necessary
- Foster open communication between parents and staff.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Services or designee.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED:
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Forty-eight (48) Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on one of the two following Formalized Standardized Assessments: ParaPro Assessment (http://www.ets.org/parapro/) or WorkKeys Certificate of Proficiency for Teacher Assistants (http://www.act.org/workkeys/profcert/index.html).
- Current Safety-care certification.
- Minimum of one year experience working with children.
- Experience and ability working with special education teachers.
- Experience and ability working with students with disabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with others.
- Demonstrated experience and ability working with parents/guardians, administrators, teachers, and students.
- Demonstrated experience and ability in assisting with team instruction.
- Able to be flexible to accommodate the needs of the student and or parent/guardians.
- May be required to be a specific gender because of the nature of the work (toileting) or because of the individual history of the student. This requirement protects both the student and the Paraprofessional.
- Current authorization to work in the United States. Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment.
QUALIFICATIONS - PREFERRED:
- Current teacher with Foxborough Regional Charter School.

FRCS is particularly interested in candidates who are fluent in one of FRCS' official languages: Spanish, Creole (Cape Verdean), Creole (Haitian), Portuguese, & Arabic.
