What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kennel Assistant position at Puppy Boutique Las Vegas?
Puppy Boutique Las Vegas in Las Vegas, NV is looking for 2 Temporary Kennel Assistants to work from 6:30-11:00AM or 11:00AM-7:30PM to join our 9-person strong team for 6 months. We are located on 4343 N. Rancho Suite 244. Our ideal candidate must possess a passion for animal welfare.
Responsibilities
- Cleaning and sanitizing kennels on a daily basis
- Provide adequate food and water
- Perform bathing and basic grooming
- Monitor puppies and immediately report health or behavior abnormalities to Business Manager/Owner
- Administer oral medications as indicated by veterinarian.
- Bring puppies to and from the kennel during veterinary check-ups.
- Clean up after puppies as needed.
- Maintain the store facility as a whole by performing tasks including, but not limited to, sweeping/mopping floors, wiping counters, taking out trash, cleaning bathrooms, and checking equipment and supplies, clean break room, Run laundry, fold towels/blankets, cleaning outside windows
- Assist other staff members on occasion with such tasks as handling the puppy to the playroom upon customers’ request
- Able and willing to work holidays and weekends
Qualifications
- Communication Skills: Effectively communicate in English Language both in writing and orally. The ability to follow directions with or without supervision
- Basic Mathematics: Accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Physical Fitness: Regularly stand for extended periods. Frequently walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch, and lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Observation Skills: The ability to recognize certain behaviors in puppies.
Required education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience caring for animals will be advantageous.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Physically fit and agile.
- Capacity to lift up to 50 pounds unaided.
- A passion for animal welfare is a must
- Available to work during public holidays, if required.
Hours: (Part Time)
Monday through Sunday : 6:30am-11:00am or 11:00AM-7:30PM. Shifts will rotate with other staff if needed
